Paying Tribute to Earth, Wind & Fire

One phrase: Tribute Thursdays. If you haven’t heard about it, you’re just in time. Charles Chaffer, CEO of Chaffer Productions® continues to impact the music scene with his hit series Tribute Thursdays at Atlanta’s historic Apache Café. The event takes place every 3rd Thursday of each month.

Each show kicks off with amazing live arrangements by the house band and music spins provided by DJ Nephu. This month’s show is a tribute to the legendary group Earth, Wind & Fire.  The artists line up includes Rahbi, Shena Renee, Ricky Mallory, “RicMal”, Daniel “Skyhigh” McClain and Ron James.

Past shows have included tributes to Lauryn Hill, Luther Vandross, Chaka Khan, Teddy Riley, Brandy and R. Kelly. And every show always includes huge surprises. For instance, the tribute show for R. Kelly included celebrity guests such as Q. Parker and Grammy-award artist Lecrae who was impressed with the event. “I mean, it was phenomenal music,” stated Lecrae. “The tribute was amazing. Obviously, the artists and singers that did their thing were phenomenal”. Another previous show was full of giveaways which included Michael Kors gift cards for two lucky attendees.

Every tribute show turns into standing room only and attendees leave with an incredible experience, myself included. First time attendee Stacey J. felt the tribute shows are much needed. “So first of all I am from the old school era, so I appreciate good music. This was absolutely much needed especially if you’re and 80s, 90s baby.” Stacey also shared the following. “The house was packed wall to wall and I was standing up—and I don’t like to stand up, but it’s worth standing. All the entertainers were awesome. You can’t pick out a favorite moment,” stated Stacey J. Tribute Thursdays is shining light and showing love to Atlanta’s musicians and artists.

Appreciating Musicians

pianoheartMusicians play an intricate role in the music we enjoy daily. They bring an exciting and enjoyable element to live concerts, wedding receptions, holiday parties, parades, Broadway shows, plays and the list goes on. However, in order to begin to understand such wonderful human beings, we must first define a musician. Merriam-Webster defines a musician as “a person who writes, sings or plays music with skill especially as a profession”.

keysheartMusicians have an amazing ability to make you feel good through melodic notes & phrases. They have a way of changing your mood and emotions. Music itself is a unique gift and those who are blessed to make music are uniquely gifted. In exchange for an unforgettable show or that song you can’t get out of your head; musicians dedicate many hours to their craft. This should not be taken lightly. Musicians should be appreciated and commended often for their contribution to all things music. Take a moment today and let a musician know that you appreciate their gift. Save an extra cheer at the next concert or live show you attend for the band. We need musicians to know that they are loved.
